Expert Tweak (Mac)

For Mac version, in addition to the Program's Export Movie UI, Movie Exporter comes with a separate "switcher" for user to choose from two export modes. This text based "switcher" is implemented in a .cfg file called "log.cfg" (see sample below) which is nested in the Program's Xtras folder (Macintosh:Applications:Comixware SE:Xtras). You can open and make change to log.cfg with a text editor (such as TextEdit) to alter export mode. Once a chang is saved, the new setting takes affect immediately upon your next export.

Export Mode

Mac Movie Exporter comes with two modes of exporting methodology. One is the Safe mode and the other is the Lite mode.

The Safe mode is the default method for movie export. It devises a disaggregative memory strategy to ensure your movie always outputted correctly regardless the length and/or the complexity of its contents. While this mode may take slightly longer to complete task, it is by far the best method on balance for most of export scenarios. Especially when your movie contains a lot of Flash scenes and/or has a lengthy timeline. The Safe mode is indicated by a line in 'log.cfg' says
xptsafe (see sample above). This means Movie Exporter is currently using the disaggregative method for exporting.

The Lite mode is an aggregative method for exporting movie. It can complete the same export task faster. But it's more prone to crashes and errors. You may want to use the Lite mode (to speed up the process) if you have a very robust system and/or a relatively short timeline to export. To switch to the Lite mode you simply remove the line
xptsafe from 'log.cfg' and save the change. Now you will be exporting in Lite mode. To switch back to Safe mode reinstate the line xptsafe to log.cfg.

Debugger

log.cfg also serves as a debugger for Movie Exporter. But this is for internal tech support use only. IMPORTANT: Except for Export Mode switch (mentioned above), END USER SHOULD NOT ATTAMPT TO MAKE ANY CHANGE TO THIS DOCUMENT.
