Drag-and-Drop

The drag-and-drop interface is prevalent to the operation
of Compose section. Working in connection with Compose
UI components
and contextual menus,
drag-and-drop is used to deliver a wide range of tasks in both
timeline editing (TE) and scene composition (SC). So before we get
into the detail of individual compose functions, it is appropriate
to have a run-down of all drag-and-drop operations. Specifically, we
use drag-and-drop
method to perform the following tasks:
Drag-and-Drop
movie clip from asset bin to Preview
window for previewing individual clip (TE).
Drag-and-Drop
movie clip from asset bin to Timeline to build movie (TE).
Note
1: You can drag-n-drop a clip to ANY frame in the Timeline even when it's out of view. To drop a clip to an out of view frame, you drag the thumbnail and butt
it against either end of the 'filmstrip' to cause the Timeline to scroll
in respective direction. Release the mouse button (dropping the thumbnail) when the desired frame is reached. The scroll is unrestrictive so long
as you don't release your mouse button, thus you can drop clip to ANY slot in your Timeline.
Note
2: If there is a scene already in the frame you want to drop your
clip, the new clip will replace the existing scene.
Drag-and-Drop
scene(s) within timeline space to arrange scene order
(TE and SC).
Note
1: You can drag-n-drop a scene or a selection of scenes to ANY
slot in the timeline by butting it to either end of filmstrip
to cause the timeline to scroll to respective direction. The
scroll is unrestrictive so long as you don't release your mouse
button, thus you can move scene to ANY slot in your Timeline.
Note
2: If there is a scene already in the frame you want to drop your
scene(s), the new scene(s) will replace the existing scene.

Drag-and-Drop scene(s) OUT of Timeline strip to remove them from the movie
(TE and SC).
Drag

stage for scene composition (SC).
Drag

(SC).
