Playback Controls

The 3 clustered buttons lining below the Timeline Strip are the main playback controls of the Timeline. Just as their shapes suggest, these buttons function very much like those found in a video player machine.

 

PLAY (movie) button

The PLAY button (capsule shaped button at the left with PLAY letters on it) is designated to start playing movie from the BEGINNING of a timeline. Click on this button will ALWAYS start playback from the first scene of a movie. This playback can be paused at anytime by clicking the "PLAY/PAUSE" button or by clicking any thumbnail (scene) in the timeline.

The Play tab on the top horizontal Menu has the same function as the PLAY button. Both are for starting movie playback from the first scene of a timeline'.

 

PLAY/PAUSE button

The PLAY/PAUSE button (round button at the center with PLAY symbol on it) is a dual mode toggle button. It's a PLAY button when the timeline is stopped, and it's a PAUSE button when the timeline is being played. The PLAY mode starts the playback from the CURRENT location of the Playhead. You can use this button to play from any scene by first selecting it from the timeline (* A white box around the thumbnail indicates the scene is being selected. *) and then clicking PLAY/PAUSE button to start the playback from that scene.

 

RESET button

Unlike in other sections (Compose, Save and Gallery), there is not an "empty" state of Timeline in Play section. So if you click RESET button in Play, Comixware will send you back to Compose section with a brand new (empty) Timeline. This is a 'START ALL OVER AGAIN' button that will empty everything in your timeline. ** MAKE SURE YOU SAVE YOUR WORK BEFORE RESETTING THE TIMELINE!
